Our team worked on the multimedia section of the exhibition The Peredvizhniki, which explored both the phenomenon of traveling exhibitions and the artists’ collective itself. The central aim of this section was to demonstrate how the Peredvizhniki artists conveyed their progressive views and the concept of continuous movement — and how advances in railway travel and technology supported their mission.
The lighting concept was built around the idea of constant motion. One of the first exhibits features a locomotive frame set on illuminated tracks, with a blurred landscape in the background — evoking the sensation of travel. In another hall, the artists’ works are displayed as lightboxes, where the lighting gradually brightens and dims, revealing different paintings in turn. This dynamic approach also evokes the theme of movement that was central to Peredvizhniki’s artistic journey.
