Opera and Ballet Theater

The theater complex is part of a creative cluster in a newly developed area of Kaliningrad, located on October Island by the Staraya Pregolya River.

The light-colored building is shaped like a hyperbolic paraboloid and reveals itself in different ways — visually and conceptually — depending on the viewer’s perspective.

For the nighttime lighting, we chose to extend the effect of natural light, specifically the soft glow of the setting sun. This approach allows the building to remain gently illuminated and harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape.
