The retreat facility was created for children undergoing cancer treatment and their parents — a place where families can spend time together during rehabilitation. The goal of the landscaping and lighting was to create a comfortable and inclusive environment.
The lighting concept was inspired by the image of a grandmother’s countryside home: a warm, welcoming house surrounded by nature, where every tree invites you to step outside whatever the season. Fresh air, freedom to roam and play everywhere, and family that is always there — ready to embrace, feed, and care for you. These feelings of freedom, support, and safety are especially important for children recovering from long and difficult treatment.
In designing the lighting, we created both areas for shared activities and more secluded corners for quiet rest and provided a warm and inviting environment everywhere.
