Erte.
A Fantasy that lasted A Century

Elegance, fluidity, lightness, grace, and weightlessness. Feelings that are more like dreams and fantasies. These were the qualities the creators of the exhibition dedicated to Erté aimed for.

We wanted to create an immersive experience that captured the artist’s imaginative world. The location was a small basement hall of an old English courtyard.

We decided to fill it with soft light gradients that would wrap around the artworks and highlight their shapes, colors, and the mood they were trying to transcend.

At any time of day, the room retained a dreamy atmosphere of a twilight,  reminiscent of that fleeting moment during the golden hour, when deep orange and cool blue meet one another in the sky.
