House of Impressions gathered two exhibitions, an extensive series of artist talks, discussions, video screenings, concerts, performances, and other public and educational events. It brought together more that 35 artworks by classics of media art — Vito Acconci, Jonas Mekas, Bruce Nauman, Bill Viola, Chantal Akerman — and contemporary artists who shape the today’s landscape of media art — Camille Norment, Julian Rosefeldt, Anri Sala among others. The project was nominated for the Innovation Art Prize, a key Russian award in the field of contemporary art.
The show provided a comprehensive showcase of new media art, featuring a wide range of forms including interactive installations by artists such as Marnix de Nijs, Christa Sommerer, and Laurent Mignonneau, as well as sound sculptures. Our team’s primary objective was to enhance the audience’s engagement with these artworks, both physically within the exhibition space and mentally through an extensive public program. This involved overseeing the project’s general production at every stage, including the adaptation of a space that had not been used for exhibitions before.
