The Pushkin State Museum hosted the first Russian exhibition of Bill Viola, showcasing over 20 new media artworks by the groundbreaking master created between 2000 and 2014. These remarkable pieces exemplified the artists’ exceptional command of moving image and his unparalleled artistic vision. For the first time, the major traditional Russian museum hosted a cutting-edge media art exhibition.
The project posed a significant challenge as it required adapting cutting-edge technological solutions to a classical museum space that held the prestigious status of a cultural heritage site. Overcoming various infrastructural limitations was essential. In close collaboration with the artist’s studio, members of our team developed a sophisticated multimedia solution that adhered to the technological requirements of the artworks while respecting the spatial restrictions. The result was a truly memorable visitor experience that seamlessly merged innovation with the museum’s historical setting.
